Safety Winner for July Announced at Preston

Following some heavy downpours, the temporary drainage pipes fitted inside the roof of the Stores Building had filled with water and were sagging, representing a hazard to workers below.

Sean Slefendorfas (from subcontractor Heritage Glass) promptly identified the hazard, and realising that no plumbers were on site, took it upon himself to promptly rectify the hazard by cutting and releasing the water pressure in a safe manner.

This “Safety in Action” was recognised by the PTWR Safety Management Committee and resulted in Sean being declared the winner of the Safety Reward & Recognition Program for July.
